The Compartments

Step into your luxurious cabin and relax as you embark on a fantastic journey through Malaysia. There are four categories of cabins: Pullman Single, Pullman, State and Presidential Suite. These are all air-conditioned with en suite bathrooms. Fine fabrics and intricate marquetry give an atmosphere of warm elegance.
During the day, your cabin is a private lounge complete with a banquette-style sofa. At night, it converts into an inviting bedroom with an upper and lower bed. Pullman Cabins have upper and lower berths, while State Cabins offer two single beds. All Pullman Singles have one single bed. For the ultimate in luxury travel choose a Presidential Suite, offering twin beds, a larger bathroom and additional seating.
Pullman Cabins

During the day, this vintage-style cabin has banquette seating and a window, where you can enjoy the scenery as you travel along. Whilst you are enjoying your gourmet evening meal, your cabin will be transformed into a bedroom, with one upper and one lower berth made up with white damask sheets. In single cabins, there is only a lower berth.
State Cabins

These upgraded cabins are slightly more spacious, with a banquette style sofa, fixed chair and one movable chair during the day. In the night time, these are converted into two twin beds. As with the Pullman Cabins, there is a wardrobe and in-room safe available.
Presidential Suites
Eastern & Oriental Express
All Presidential Suites measure 125 square feet and are configured as a private lounge during the day, with a banquette style sofa, a fixed chair, and two moveable chairs. These convert to twin beds at night. A private en suite bathroom is also provided, along with a wardrobe and in-room safe. Guests staying in Presidential Suites can also take advantage of a complimentary bar in their cabin.

One of the highlights of any journey aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express is the gastronomy. World renowned chefs create delicious eastern and international specialities to rival the world’s best restaurants.
A breakfast of croissants, fruit, coffee, tea and juice is delivered to your cabin each morning whilst early risers can enjoy refreshments in the Observation Car, served from 7am onwards. Lunch and dinner are served in the elegant restaurant car.
The Bar Car

Open from early morning until late into the night, the Bar Car is the social hub of the train throughout the day. Once you have dressed for dinner, come and join your fellow guests for a signature cocktail or aperitif with background music provided the resident pianist on the baby grand piano.
After dinner, relax, mingle and enjoy local entertainment before returning to your cabin for the night. The bar is fully stocked with international brands. As of 2018, house beverages are included with your journey.
