Simon Hodge
Managing Director
Simon had an idea in 2013 and started the company from his modest one-bedroom flat in Streatham Hill. His favourite trains include the regional trains along the route of the Glacier Express in Switzerland, whizzing through Spain at nearly 200 mph on an AVE train, and the coastal route along the French Riviera. He’s travelled from London to Marrakech by train, as well as Syria and Russia overland.
Emily Morrison
Head of Operations
Emily has been with the company since the early days when it was based in Simon’s home and she spent afternoons sorting out ticket packs on his sofa. She strongly believes (and will argue with anyone) that rail is the best way to travel anywhere and her rail travel highlights have included the Coastal Pacific in New Zealand, sitting next to the driver on Pilatus, the steepest cog railway in the world and a journey from Essex to Beijing by train.
Zak Nouri
Rail Manager
Zak joined TMR in 2022, although he managed our account during his time at another company for five years. Zak is a big rail travel fan and would only travel by train where possible as he thinks and knows that unlike cars, there’s no traffic to stress about and you don’t have to worry about taking the wrong turn and getting lost. Some of the best places he visited by train are St Raphael, Bruges and Maastricht.
Anny Spilotros
Senior Travel Consultant
Anny comes from a multicultural background, always enthusiastic about travel and destinations. She has been with us since August 2022. She lived in Andalucia, Spain for a year, travelling around the region and immersing herself in the local culture. Her favourite city is Wroclaw in Poland, where, though it was freezing when she visited in February, the locals are very warm and food was wonderful.
Josh Pearce
Senior Operations Executive
Josh joined in 2022 after finishing uni. He’s always been a self-confessed rail geek; one of his favourite UK rail journeys is the scenic Settle to Carlisle railway which is attached to many happy childhood memories. Among his top European destinations are Sorrento, Berlin, Granada and pretty much anywhere in Switzerland (all reachable by rail of course!).
Katie Williams
Customer Experience Manager
Katie has enjoyed almost 20 years as a travel consultant, designing all sorts of trips all over Europe. She remembers the exact moment she fell in love with train travel, which was on a beaten up old train from Florence to Siena aged about 20, leaning out of the window as the sun set over Tuscany. Her rail highlights include the Flam Railway in Norway and a long-distance sleeper train into the mountains in Sapa, Vietnam.
George Illingworth
Travel Consultant
George grew up in a German/English household and enjoyed many train journeys through the UK and Germany, Austria & Switzerland. The Scottish Highlands, Salzburg, Heidelberg and Interlaken are just a few of the destinations that George has been lucky to visit. Especially partial to the comfort that train journeys provide, George has since travelled further through Europe and his recent favourite destinations include Lake Bled and the architecturally fascinating city of Budapest.
Mia Palmer-Wildin
Travel Consultant
Mia joined the company in 2023 as a big advocator for rail travel. Having travelled across Europe by train multiple times, she understands the ease and comfort that train travelling offers. Some of her favourite travel experiences include travelling between Denmark and Sweden on the spectacular Oresund bridge, and exploring the stunning scenery of Lake Bled.
Roisin Gittins
Travel Consultant
Roisin is one of the newest members of the team. She has grown up with rail enthusiast family members which helped to shape her interest for rail travel and fondly remembers journeys up to Edinburgh from London going along the Northeastern coast. Some of her favourite places include Sofia where Communism meets Roman ruins, Heidelberg (particularly for the Christmas market) and the island of Brac in Croatia for its spectacular Golden Horn beach.
Melissa Hassan
Travel Consultant
Melissa is a 2023 newcomer, with a great passion for all things travel. She is especially fond of travelling by rail due to its various benefits; including the opportunity to explore a great number of destinations in a short amount of time with limited fuss. With many countries still yet to be explored, a current favourite is Lugano, Switzerland, known for its spectacular views & scenery!
Paul Holman
Travel Consultant
Paul has been working in the rail travel industry for more years than he is willing to admit and was one of TMR’s first travel consultants. He generally works from his home in the French Pyrenees but enjoys coming to London and taking advantage of the Tesco meal deals and a nice pint of proper beer. His travel highlights include Prague and taking the Orient-Express to Venice.
Ashley Davison
Travel Consultant
Ashley has worked in the travel industry since the mid 80’s.Living in the Northeast of England, known locally as “ God’s Country”, he has always needed to travel by rail to access all areas of the United Kingdom. Rail has always been his passion and he has travelled many times by train within Europe including Spain, France, Italy, Germany and the Benelux. Some of his favourite places include Istanbul where Europe meets Asia, Dubrovnik and the region of Andalucia, Spain with its Moorish influence.
Tia Fa
Operations Executive
Tia is the most recent addition to the TMR operations team and will most likely be the one to pack your travel details up for you. Though she is new to the rail industry, she is an avid traveller and is on a mission to visit all the countries of Europe, preferably as soon as possible! Her top recommendation for anyone to visit is Venice - “The canals, culture and clouds in Venice are one of a kind and the food is to die for!”
Lucy Cutmore
Finance Assistant
Lucy started with the company in 2023 and looks after our accounts along with helping the occasional customer who wants an Italian holiday. Having travelled many places in Italy, including Tuscany, Venice, Rome, Lake Garda and more, she is definitely an Italophile! She’s also enjoyed visiting countries like France, Spain, Greece, the USA, New Zealand and Malaysia.
