Buenos Aires to Lima
DAYS 1 & 2 - FLY OVERNIGHT TO BUENOS AIRES

Catch an overnight flight from London to the Argentinian capital. On arrival, a private transfer will be waiting to greet you and take you straight to your centrally located hotel, the Hotel Anselmo (or similar), where you have a 4-night stay.

Settle in and relax after your flight.

DAY 3 - AT LEISURE IN BUENOS AIRES

Enjoy a day exploring Buenos Aires at your own pace today, as you acclimatise to the time difference in Argentina (4 hours behind GMT).

Later on today, you’ll meet your Tour Leader and the rest of your group for a friendly orientation and welcome briefing—an exciting first step toward the unforgettable adventure that lies ahead!

DAY 4 - DISCOVER BUENOS AIRES

Begin your exploration today by taking in iconic landmarks of Buenos Aires—from the towering Obelisk to the city’s historic plazas. Stroll along Avenida 9 de Julio, the world’s widest avenue, and make your way through the colourful, art-filled streets of La Boca and the famous “Caminito.”

In the evening, enjoy a traditional Argentine dinner paired with a private tango performance, offering an unforgettable glimpse into the passionate spirit of the city.

DAY 5 - RIO DE LA PLATA DELTA AND TIGRE

After breakfast this morning,  head out for a cruise from Puerto Madero, taking in panoramic views of the city skyline before navigating the peaceful canals of the Río de la Plata Delta—a lush natural retreat. Explore the town of Tigre, where unique architecture and lively markets create a distinct atmosphere. Enjoy a flavourful regional lunch, then unwind with a train ride back to Buenos Aires, the perfect end to a day filled with discovery.

DAY 6 - BUENOS AIRES TO CAFAYATE

Depart Buenos Aires on a morning flight to Tucumán, the gateway to Northwestern Argentina. From there, travel overland through the stunning Calchaquí Valley, where dramatic rock formations and vivid colours define the landscape. Along the way, explore the captivating town of Tafí del Valle, tucked high in the Andes, before arriving in Cafayate—a charming destination surrounded by some of the country’s most celebrated vineyards. Check in for a 2-night stay at the Hotel Asturias (or similar).

DAY 7 - CAFAYATE VINEYARDS

Delve into the rich wine culture of Cafayate with a guided tour led by a local expert. Step inside a renowned winery to uncover the techniques and traditions behind the region’s celebrated Malbec, Tannat, and Torrontés varietals. Enjoy a curated tasting set against the stunning backdrop of sun-drenched vineyards. Then, indulge in a gourmet lunch at an elegant country estate nestled among the vines. The afternoon is yours to wander Cafayate at your own pace and soak in the charm of this high-altitude wine haven.

DAY 8 - CAFAYATE TO SALTA

Bid farewell to Cafayate today, as you travel through the awe-inspiring Río de las Conchas Valley, where striking geological formations paint the landscape in vivid hues. Pause for memorable photo opportunities at iconic natural wonders like the Amphitheatre and the Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat).

Tuck in to a delicious lunch surrounded by these breathtaking vistas before continuing on to Salta—a city celebrated for its colonial charm and rich history. On arrival, check in at the Hotel Design Suites (or similar) before taking time to explore picturesque plazas and cobblestone streets at your leisure.

DAY 9 - TREN A LAS NUBES (TRAIN TO THE CLOUDS)

Depart from Salta and venture into the Andes, making a stop in the quaint village of Alfarcito. Continue the climb through the dramatic Quebrada de las Cuevas before boarding the legendary Tren a las Nubes (Train to the Clouds), an engineering marvel that carries you to dizzying heights.

Arrive at the breathtaking Polvorilla Viaduct, perched at 4,200 meters (approximately 13,800 feet) above sea level, for sweeping panoramic views. Enjoy a hearty lunch in San Antonio de los Cobres, before your scenic return journey to Salta.

DAY 10 - SALTA TO PURMAMARCA AND THE RAINBOW VALLEY

Venture north to the UNESCO-listed Quebrada de Humahuaca, a valley renowned for its vibrant, multi-colored mountains and rich ancient history. Watch as the canyon’s hues shift and change with the movement of the sun. Take an easy stroll beneath the painted cliffs along paths once traveled by ancient traders. End the day in the charming village of Purmamarca, nestled amid this stunning landscape, where you’ll spend the night at the Hotel la Comarca (or similar). 

DAY 11 - PURMAMARCA TO TUPIZA

You’ll say goodbye to Argentina this morning as you head north, crossing into Bolivia and arriving in Villazón, where you’ll have a delicious lunch. The journey continues with a scenic train ride through dramatic landscapes en route to Tupiza.

Upon arrival, take a leisurely walk around this authentic rural Bolivian town to soak in its unique atmosphere. Tonight’s accommodation is at Hotel Mitru—the finest lodging in this remote high-Andes region. 

DAY 12 - TUPIZA TO UYUNI

After breakfast this morning, head out from Tupiza on an unforgettable overland journey toward the vast Uyuni Salt Flat. Along the way, travel through extraordinary landscapes marked by striking stone formations and distant volcanoes. Upon arrival in Uyuni, enjoy lunch in this rustic town before visiting the atmospheric Railway Cemetery on its outskirts. Then, continue to your unique accommodation, the Hotel Palacio de Sal (or similar) on the edge of the salt flat. You have a 2-night stay here.

DAY 13 - EXPLORING THE SALT DESERT

Discover the magic of the Uyuni Salt Flats with a visit to Colchani, a traditional village where artisanal salt-processing methods are still practiced. Then venture onto the vast, blinding white expanse of the salt flats—a surreal, otherworldly landscape unlike any other. Explore Incahuasi Island, a surprising cactus-covered oasis offering breathtaking panoramic views across the desert. Cap off the experience with a unique picnic lunch surrounded by the stunning beauty of this extraordinary environment.

DAY 14 - UYUNI TO LA PAZ

Take a morning flight from Uyuni, leaving the vast salt flats behind as you ascend to the vibrant, mile-high city of La Paz. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel, stopping at a scenic lookout point that offers spectacular views of the city nestled in its valley, framed by the majestic Illimani Mountain. After check-in at the Hotel Europa (or similar) and lunch, begin your city tour by exploring the mystical Witches Market, wandering the historic district around Plaza Murillo—the political heart of La Paz—and ascending to the Killi Killi lookout for breathtaking panoramic vistas.

DAY 15 - EXPLORING LA PAZ

Discover the intriguing “Moon Valley” formations just beyond La Paz. Then, take to the skies aboard the city’s impressive cable car system—a standout example of modern urban transit that offers breathtaking aerial views. This afternoon is yours to explore as you wish: wander the bustling markets, return to a favourite plaza, or simply absorb the vibrant energy that defines this extraordinary city.

DAY 16 - LA PAZ TO COPACOBANA (LAKE TITICACA)

Embark on a scenic journey to Copacabana, a charming town nestled on the Bolivian shores of the legendary Lake Titicaca. Cruise across to Sun Island, a site rich in Inca mythology. Indulge in an “Aptapi,” a traditional Andean lunch showcasing a variety of local flavours. Explore the island’s ancient ruins, including the Pilkokaina Inca temple, immersing yourself in its deep history and serene beauty. Return to Copacabana as the sun sets, enjoying the peaceful tranquility of Lake Titicaca.

Your accommodation for tonight is at the Hotel Rosario del Lago (or similar). 

DAY 17 - COPACOBANA TO PUNO

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Copacabana, discovering the town’s vibrant markets and unique local charm. Visit the revered Sanctuary of the Virgin of Copacabana and learn about its deep cultural significance across the region. Enjoy lunch at your hotel before crossing the border into Peru via a scenic route. Arrive in Puno, a city rich in Peruvian tradition, and settle into the Hotel Jose Antonio (or similar) overlooking the shores of Lake Titicaca.

DAY 18 - LAKE TITICACA TO CUSCO BY TRAIN

Today, board the legendary Perurail Titicaca Train for a journey through stunning Andean landscapes. From the comfort of your carriage, take in dramatic peaks, vibrant valleys, and remote villages along the route. Reach La Raya, the highest point at 4,321 meters (approximately 14,177 feet), where magnificent views await. Then descend following the winding Urubamba River toward Cusco. Arrive in the evening and transfer to the Novotel Cusco (or similar) in the historic city centre, ready to explore the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. You have a 4-night stay here.

DAY 19 - AROUND CUSCO AND THE SACRED VALLEY

Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Chinchero, famed for its cobbled streets and bustling traditional markets. Continue to Moray, an ingenious Inca site featuring distinctive circular agricultural terraces. Enjoy a leisurely lunch in the charming town of Maras, nestled in the heart of the Sacred Valley. Experience the centuries-old practice of salt harvesting at the nearby Maras Salt Mines—a mesmerizing landscape of glistening white pools. Return to Cusco in the afternoon, carrying with you the timeless traditions and natural beauty of the Sacred Valley.

DAY 20 - MACHU PICCHU AND THE HIRAM BINGHAM

Take a scenic transfer to Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley before boarding either the Expedition or Vistadome train, winding through breathtaking cloud forest landscapes en route to Aguas Calientes. From there, take a shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu, the legendary Lost City of the Incas. An expert guide will reveal its secrets and rich history as you explore this awe-inspiring citadel. In the late afternoon, descend back to Aguas Calientes to board the luxurious Belmond Hiram Bingham Train. Settle into your accommodation at the Hotel Doubletree Pardo (or similar) in the lively Miraflores district, renowned for its oceanfront beauty and energetic atmosphere. Explore Lima’s rich history on a city tour, visiting the grand Plaza Mayor with its Government Palace and Cathedral. Discover the contrasting charms of the modern San Isidro and Miraflores districts. Conclude your journey with a special farewell lunch, celebrating the unforgettable experiences of your adventure

DAY 23 - DEPART LIMA
