Head for St Pancras International today and board a Eurostar service which will take you across the Channel, through Northern France and Belgium, direct to Amsterdam. On arrival, head for the Ibis Styles Amsterdam Central Station (or similar), where you have a 2-night stay.

DAY 2 - DAY TRIP TO ZAANSE SCHANS
blank

Today, you’ll be picked up from your hotel for a quintessentially Dutch day trip to Zaanse Schans, famous for its traditional wooden windmills and green-painted houses. You’ll visit a working windmill and find out how products were once made using the power of the wind. You’ll also visit a cheese farm (including tastings) and a clog making workshop.

This tour takes around half a day so if you would like to have more time to explore Amsterdam, we would recommend having an additional night here.

DAYS 3 & 4 - UTRECHT
blank

It’s only a 20-minute journey from Amsterdam Central station to Utrecht, the fourth largest city in the Netherlands. On arrival, check in for a 2-night stay at the Inntel Hotels Utrecht Centre (or similar).

Utrecht is the more sedate and less visited cousin of Amsterdam, boasting beautiful canals and parks, lively restaurants, bars and cafés, fascinating museums and grand historical buildings. Enjoy al fresco canal-side dining, or why not explore Utrecht’s canals with your own canoe? You can also get a birds-eye view of the city from the cathedral tower or visit the fascinating Railway Museum!

DAYS 5 & 6 - BREDA
blank

Take the train via Rotterdam to historic Breda, with the option to stop for lunch in Rotterdam. Once you arrive into Breda, check in for 2-night stay at the Bliss Boutique Hotel (or similar.

Considered to be one of the most welcoming cities in the Netherlands, Breda is also full of history, boasting not one but two castles and links to the current Dutch royal family. There’s also a strong cultural vibe with lots of galleries, including an outdoor museum, featuring over 150 murals.

DAYS 7 & 8 - THE HAGUE
blank

A rail journey of less than 90 minutes brings you to administrative capital The Hague (or Den Haag), where you have 2 nights at the Staybridge Suites The Hague – Parliament (or similar).

This is a very walkable destination, combining cobbled streets, the stately Binnerhof (parliament building) overlooking the Hofvijver or Court Pond along with many museums, cafés, restaurants and a great mix of architecture. If the weather’s fine, you can also head up the coast to Scheveningen, a seaside resort with a long sandy beach, a pier and a lighthouse.

DAY 9 - THE HAGUE TO LONDON
blank

It’s time to check out of your hotel today and leave The Hague for your journey back to London. Take the train back to Rotterdam and then catch the Eurostar back to St Pancras.
