Arrive into Lyon’s Part Dieu station in the early evening and check in for an overnight stay at Le Royal Hotel (or similar).

After breakfast at your hotel, it’s time to return to the station for an onward journey south across the Italian border to Milan. Here, change onto an Italian service which will take you to the historic port of Genoa. You have an overnight stop here at the Grand Hotel Savoia (or similar), close to the station.
Remember, we can tailor make your holiday. If you’d rather stay in Milan (or add a night here en route to Genoa), please let us know.

Enjoy a free morning in Genoa, with time to visit the historic Old Town, a maze of charming narrow lanes. Visit the stunning San Lorenzo Cathedral and explore the vibrant Piazza de Ferrari. Take a walk down Via Garibaldi, lined with grand Renaissance palaces, then head to the bustling Porto Antico for harbourside views and a coffee with a sea breeze.
At lunchtime, after collecting your bags from your hotel, return to the station and take the train down the coast to Pisa, changing here onto a regional service, bound for Florence. Check in here for a 2-night stay at the Hotel Number Nine (or similar).

Florence, the enchanting capital of Tuscany, has been a thriving hub of art and culture for centuries. Today, it’s home to an extraordinary collection of galleries, museums, and historic churches. Dominating the skyline is the magnificent Duomo—an architectural masterpiece.
Stroll along the River Arno and take in the iconic Ponte Vecchio, one of the most photographed landmarks in Italy. No trip to Florence is complete without experiencing the world-renowned Uffizi Gallery, located in the heart of the city. Want to skip the queues?
