Suggested Itinerary
Your holiday begins with a morning Eurostar from London to Paris. On arrival at the Gare du Nord, a driver will be waiting for you at the end of the platform ready to take you to your centrally-located hotel for the night, the Sofitel le Faubourg (or similar).
With the delights of Paris on your doorstep, there are plenty of options for this afternoon, from browsing the boutiques of St Germain, taking in a famous art gallery or discovering some of the city’s iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower or the Champs Elysées. This evening, there’s a huge range of choices for an evening meal or you might like to make the day extra-special with a dinner cruise along the Seine (let us know if you would like us to add this for you).
After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and make your way to the Gare de Lyon, where your onward train service departs for the French Riviera.
Catch a high-speed TGV through France to Nice and then meet your transfer driver, who will take you along the coast to Monte Carlo, where you check in for a 3-night stay at the luxurious Hotel Hermitage (or similar).
Enjoy two full days in Monte Carlo. The tiny principality of Monaco is the second smallest country in the world (after Vatican City) and is world-renowned enclave of the rich and famous. You can even take a tour in a Ferrari if you so wish! The rocky outcrop known as Le Rocher, jutting out on the south side of Monte Carlo’s port, is crowned by a pretty old town which is well worth a visit and home to the principality’s royal palace.
You might also like to hop on a local train to visit nearby French destinations such as Menton, Eze and Villefranche sur Mer.
A local train will take you from Monte Carlo to Cannes. You do not need seat reservations for this service so you can choose to leave Monte Carlo at any time. You will just need to let your transfer driver know, as he’ll be waiting at Cannes station to take you to the Hotel Martinez (or similar) for a 3-night stay.
Glamorous Cannes boasts luxurious hotels, restaurants and designer shops, plenty of private yachts and, of course, a famous annual film festival in May. You also might like to take a boat out to the island of Île Sainte-Marguerite, where the ‘Man in the Iron Mask’ was said to have been held. Along the coast, destinations such as Grasse, famous for its perfumes, and Antibes are accessible by train.
This morning, return to the station and catch another high-speed train service back to Paris and then meet your private transfer driver who will take you to the Gare du Nord. Here, check in the Eurostar back to London, arriving midway through the evening at St Pancras International station.
