T he Belmond Andean Explorer is South America’s first luxury sleeper train which travels along one of the highest rail lines on earth. Travel from Cusco, the capital of the Inca Empire, across the lofty Andean plains to the white city of Arequipa, enjoying the region’s spectacular highlights along the way, including Lake Titicaca and Colca Canyon.
On board, you will receive the fantastic levels of service and gourmet dining that you would expect of a Belmond luxury train. Relax in your en suite cabin, treat yourself to a rejuvenating treatment in the spa car or join your fellow travellers in the lounge to share stories and enjoy a signature cocktail.

The Compartments

In contrast to the dramatic landscapes that will pass by your window, each twin or double cabin offers a soothing blend of Peruvian style and in-built oxygen for additional comfort at high altitudes. Hand-woven fabrics and soft, Alpaca-style textures invite a leisurely rest. All cabins also feature an en suite bathroom.
In bunk and twin bedded cabins, you have a quiet space to relax and watch the passing scenery during the day time and then your cabin is converted into a welcoming bedroom during dinner. In the Deluxe and Junior categories, there is a double bed and separate seating area.
Bunk Bed Cabins

During the day, this 59 square foot cabin has banquette seating and a window, where you can watch the passing scenery. During your evening meal, your cabin will be transformed into a bedroom, with one upper and one lower berth made up with white damask sheets. The bunk bed cabins also have a wardrobe and an en suite with shower, washbasin and WC.
Twin Bed Cabins

These slightly larger cabins offer a 80 square feet area, with a banquette style sofa and another seat during the day. In the night time, these are converted into two twin beds (all lower level). As with the bunk bed cabins, there is a wardrobe and en suite bathroom.
Suite Cabins

At 141 square feet, this is a spacious option with a double bed, a seating area with two chairs and a table along with a compact wardrobe. The en suite bathroom also has a washbasin, shower, WC and a towel rack.

The Bar Car

Open from early morning until late into the night, the Bar Car is the social hub of the train throughout the day. Once you have dressed for dinner, come and join your fellow guests for a signature cocktail or aperitif with background music provided the resident pianist on the baby grand piano.
After dinner, relax, mingle and enjoy local entertainment before returning to your cabin for the night. The bar is fully stocked with international brands. House beverages are included with your journey.
Observation & Spa Car

Located at the rear of the train, the Observation Car offers you the chance to have a panoramic view of the passing landscapes, including an open observation deck. Enjoy a morning coffee as the sun rises, afternoon tea or evening cocktail as you watch the fantastic scenery.
After a day’s outdoor pursuits, soothe body and soul in the train’s unique onboard spa.
The lounge car with its baby grand piano and convivial atmosphere is the perfect place to enjoy a Pisco Sour with friends old and new.
