Suggested Itinerary
Travel to Brussels by Eurostar, connect onto a German ICE train to the cathedral city of Cologne. Check into the centrally-situated CityClass Europa am Dom (or similar) for a 3-night stay, and then perhaps head out for dinner in one of the vibrant districts close to the hotel.
Spend two days discovering Cologne, a lively city on the banks of the Rhine. Marvel at the magnificent twin-spired Cologne Cathedral, explore the charming streets of the Old Town and stroll along the riverfront or across the striking Hohenzollern Bridge. Visit one of the city’s excellent museums, take a relaxing cruise along the Rhine or indulge at the popular Chocolate Museum. In the evening, settle into a traditional brewhouse to sample hearty Rhineland specialities accompanied by a glass of local Kölsch beer.
Depart Cologne this morning and head back to Brussels. We allow plenty of time so you can leave your bags and spend a bit of time in the Belgian capital before you return on the Eurostar, arriving back into London comfortably the same evening.
TMR RECOMMENDS: Why not spend a night or two in Brussels or another Belgian city like Bruges or Ghent on your way back from Cologne. The pretty city of Aachen is also on the same train line.
