Hidden Switzerland Escorted Tour
DAY 1 - LONDON TO WINTERTHUR

Early this morning, you’ll meet your UK-based guide at St Pancras station for your journey to Switzerland. Board the Eurostar and travel across to the Gare du Nord in Paris. You’ll transfer by rapid metro to the Gare de Lyon where there’ll be time to stock up on some lunch to have on your next journey, bound for Zurich.

On arrival, meet your Swiss guide who will accompany you to Winterthur and get you settled in at the Park Hotel Winterthur, before you enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and first dinner together.

DAY 2 - DAY TRIP TO APPENZELL & ST GALLEN

After breakfast, we take a scenic train journey to Appenzell, one of Switzerland’s most charming villages. Known for its beautifully painted houses, rich traditions, and stunning alpine surroundings, Appenzell offers a unique glimpse into Swiss culture. You’ll have the chance to sample regional specialities such as Appenzeller cheese or visit the town’s historic brewery before enjoying lunch independently.

After lunch, we travel by train to St. Gallen, a historic Swiss city known for its rich cultural heritage. Once we arrive in St. Gallen, we head towards the Old Town and the UNESCO World Heritage Abbey district. You get to visit this interesting and stunning site individually before having some free time to explore at your own pace. Back at the hotel, enjoy an exclusive tasting of local wines before you head out to sample your own choice of restaurant for dinner (not included).

DAY 3 - WINTERTHUR TO BRAUNWALD VIA RHINE FALLS

After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and your main luggage will be transported directly to our next stop. We take the train to Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall station and from there, it’s a pleasant 30 minute walk along scenic paths to Schlössli Wörth, where you will board your Rhine Falls boat trip. (approximately 30 minutes) Enjoy the stunning views as you get up close to one of Europe’s most spectacular waterfalls. After the boat trip, you can continue to explore the Rhine Falls area, relax by the water, or visit the viewpoints and walking paths before continuing your journey to the nearby town of Schaffhausen.

Enjoy some free time here. Stroll through the charming old town, admire the beautiful medieval buildings, or relax in a café. After lunch, we will take the train to Linthal, located in the heart of Canton Glarus. From Linthal, a funicular ride will carry us up to our final destination, the Panorama Hotel, situated in the charming, car-free village of Braunwald.

DAY 4 - FREE TIME IN BRAUNWALD & MOUNTAINTOP LUNCH

You’ll have a restful morning today with a relaxed breakfast and some time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Braunwald. Later, we will take a scenic walk through the village before boarding the gondola to Berggasthaus Gumen.
Here, you can enjoy a traditional lunch while taking in the spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding Alps.

The afternoon is at leisure, allowing you to relax, take photos, or explore the area further. The descent back to the village on the gondola is included, but guests who prefer a more active experience may choose to walk down at their own pace, enjoying the fresh mountain air and scenic trails.

 

 

DAY 5 - BRAUNWALD TO SAVOGNIN

After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and your main luggage will be transported directly to your next hotel. We’ll take the funicular and continue by train on a scenic route via the Walensee to Chur. From Chur, we proceed onwards by train to Tiefencastel, where we change to the PostAuto for a short connection to our destination, Savognin. Upon arrival in Savognin, we will check in to the hotel.

After lunch at your own leisure, we take the gondola to Tigignas, offering breathtaking panoramic views across the Val Surses. Enjoy the stunning alpine scenery and take photos of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Spend some time at the top to relax, soak in the vistas, and appreciate the peaceful alpine environment. You’ll have dinner at the hotel in the evening as well as a Swiss wine tasting experience.

DAY 6 - DAY TRIP TO ST MORITZ

We begin the day with a short PostAuto ride to Tiefencastel, where we disembark and join the train for a journey along the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Albula Line to St. Moritz. You have some free time here to enjoy lunch independently, discover the luxury boutiques and perhaps take a stroll around the tranquil lake.

In the afternoon, we board the PostAuto for the return journey to Savognin via Bivio, another spectacular route offering panoramic mountain views and unforgettable scenery. Our late afternoon arrival in Savognin allows some free time to explore the charming village before dinner, giving you the chance to stroll, shop, or simply relax in the alpine atmosphere. Enjoy a sumptuous farewell dinner at the hotel this evening.

DAY 7 - SAVOGNIN TO LONDON

We’ll check out early this morning and return to Tiefencastel by bus. Here, we’ll connect with the train for a last scenic rail journey north to Basel via Chur. Your main luggage will be delivered directly to the station at Basel SBB. Collect your cases and join our UK guide who will bring you back to Paris and on to London at the end of an unforgettable Swiss adventure.
